The Plant Engineer is responsible for overseeing and maintaining all technical and mechanical operations at the ready mix concrete plant. This includes ensuring efficient plant operation, maintenance of equipment, troubleshooting, and implementing safety and quality standards. The Plant Engineer will work closely with the operations team to ensure the plant runs smoothly, meets production targets, and complies with environmental and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Plant Operation & Supervision:
- Ensure smooth and efficient operation of all machinery and equipment in the plant.
- Monitor plant operations, including batching, mixing, and delivery systems.
- Oversee daily activities, ensuring that production schedules are met, and downtime is minimized.
- Ensure the plant meets the required production capacity and quality standards.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Plan and supervise the routine and preventive maintenance of plant machinery (e.g., mixers, pumps, conveyors).
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues promptly to minimize plant downtime.
- Maintain a record of all repairs and maintenance performed.
- Work with vendors for spare parts procurement and manage inventory of essential tools and equipment.
Quality Control & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with quality control standards for concrete production.
- Ensure proper testing of materials and concrete batches before delivery.
- Conduct safety audits, implement safety policies, and ensure compliance with local regulations and standards.
- Train plant personnel on the safe operation of equipment and plant processes.
Environmental Compliance:
- Monitor environmental compliance, including waste disposal and dust control measures.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and help implement sustainable practices.
Team Coordination & Training:
- Supervise and guide plant staff, including technicians, operators, and laborers.
- Provide training on plant operations, safety standards, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Coordinate with the operations and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of concrete to clients.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain records of production, maintenance, and safety reports.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports for the management team.
- Provide recommendations for plant improvements based on performance analysis

Educational Requirements:
- Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, EEE, or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in plant operations, preferably in the ready mix concrete or construction industry.
- Experience with concrete batching plants and heavy machinery is highly preferred.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of plant machinery and equipment used in ready-mix concrete production.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting technical and mechanical issues.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control procedures.
- Good understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Bengali.
