The Plant Manager will be responsible for managing the entire operations of the Ready Mix Concrete Plant, ensuring efficient production, safety, quality control, inventory management, and staff supervision. This role will oversee the manufacturing of high-quality ready-mix concrete, optimize plant operations, ensure adherence to safety standards, and contribute to the achievement of production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the ready-mix concrete plant, ensuring that production is carried out efficiently and according to schedules.
- Monitor the quality of raw materials and finished products, ensuring compliance with required standards.
- Manage the batching, mixing, and delivery processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery to customers.
- Ensure plant machinery, mixers, and equipment are in optimal condition, managing preventive maintenance and repairs.
Staff Supervision & Development:
- Supervise and manage plant personnel, including batching operators, drivers, and maintenance staff.
- Conduct training and development sessions for plant employees to improve their skills and ensure adherence to safety and operational procedures.
- Create work schedules, monitor employee performance, and ensure that the workforce meets production requirements.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce safety regulations and ensure that the plant complies with local and international safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure the proper use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety devices.
Quality Control:
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures for the production of ready-mix concrete.
- Monitor product quality through regular testing and inspections.
- Work closely with the Quality Control (QC) team to ensure product specifications are met and issues are addressed immediately.
Inventory & Supply Chain Management:
- Oversee the management of raw materials, including cement, aggregates, water, and additives.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure the timely procurement of materials to avoid production delays.
- Work with suppliers to ensure the availability of materials and manage stock levels efficiently.
Maintenance & Equipment Management:
- Manage the maintenance of the plant’s equipment, including batching plants, mixers, conveyors, and trucks.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule routine servicing, repairs, and upgrades.
- Ensure that all equipment is operating within manufacturer specifications and standards.
Cost Control & Budgeting:
- Prepare and manage the plant's budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Monitor production costs, labor, and materials usage to identify areas for cost savings.
- Optimize plant resources to ensure high efficiency and profitability.
Customer Relations & Delivery:
- Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of ready-mix concrete to customers.
- Liaise with customers to ensure their requirements are met and resolve any issues related to quality or delivery.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain daily production logs, equipment maintenance records, safety audits, and inventory reports.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management, highlighting performance, challenges, and any required actions.

Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in plant operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role in a ready-mix concrete plant or similar manufacturing facility.
- Experience with plant automation systems, batching systems, and concrete production is essential.
